LIVED EXPERIENCE ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM
The Salvation Army, Australia
LEC developed a lived-experience engagement framework for The Salvation Army Trafficking and Slavery Safe House. The Lived Experience Engagement Program (LEEP) is a pilot victim-survivor advisory council to government – the first of its kind in Australia. Involvement in the project included undertaking a desktop and literature review of lived experience engagement models, coaching and mentoring of program staff and authoring of the framework which underpins the program operations.
SAFE & EMPOWERED FAMILIES
Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand
LEC worked with Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand in the development and implementation of a family mediation model for individuals experiencing forced marriage: Safe and Empowered Families – an Australian first modelled off of practice methodology developed in Denmark. This project implemented a core recommendation from Laura’s Winston Churchill Memorial Trust Fellowship. Involvement in the project included coaching and mentoring project staff, developing and delivering ‘identify and respond to forced marriage training’, facilitating external stakeholder workshops and co-producing the program framework, policy and procedural documents.
UNDERSTANDING & RESPONDING TO RISK IN THERAPEUTIC SETTINGS
Rural Aid Australia
LEC developed and delivered a tailored training package for Rural Aid Australia to support the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team to embed risk assessment and best-practice governance approaches into their practice in the areas of family violence, child protection and suicidal ideation.
COMMUNITY SERVICES & HOUSING DIVISION PRACTICE FRAMEWORK
Baptist Care NSW/ACT
LEC worked with Baptist Care NSW/ACT to develop a practice framework within their Community Services and Housing Division – this included facilitating consultation workshops and authoring the framework.
